SS-31 (also known as Elamipretide) is a synthetic tetrapeptide that primarily improves mitochondrial function and protects cellular energy production. It achieves this by selectively binding to cardiolipin on the inner mitochondrial membrane, which restores electron transport efficiency, reduces oxidative stress, and boosts ATP production
